7 Tips for a Successful Christmas
and really, for all the holidays...
It’s still a while away, but Christmas will be here sooner than you think. It’s a good idea to get started early—around mid-October—so you’ll have plenty of time to promote and carry out your activities.
1. Make a plan
What is the goal of your campaign?
What do you hope to achieve with your campaign?
so that you can measure afterward whether your campaign was successful
and what you might still need to change or refine
What was a hit last year?
Did you run a successful promotion last year? Then use it again this year. It’s something your customers recognize. They’re looking forward to it.
Are you using a theme?
What do you need?
What do you already have?
Go ahead and mark the dates on your calendar
What do you plan to do?
Think about orders, printed materials, promotions, etc.
Prepare your promotional activities in advance on social media.
For example, on your Facebook page, you can schedule your posts by date and time. Or use the content planner on CANVA... Make good use of these tools. It saves a lot of stress.
Do you have your customer information in order?
Now is a good time to double-check all your customer information (address, email, phone number, birthday, etc.), so that your promotional materials will actually reach them later on…

2. The Power of a Christmas Card
It’s a thank-you to your customers
And a promotion for products in January and February.
You can design the card yourself or have it designed with the content of your choice. Or you could, for example, link it to a charity , showing that you care about social issues. Kill two birds with one stone
A portion of the proceeds from the cards goes to the charity of your choice. Just Google “charity cards ” and see if it’s something for you.
You can order the cards here, ready to go, or write your own Christmas message when they arrive.
For example, you could add a separate insert featuringyour promotion for January and February.
Use nice paper for this.
A Christmas card like this should be a treat in itself, right?
There are many providers who can help you with this: Printenbind.nl, …, or your local print shop!
Of course, you can also send an e-card, but a personal card really stands out in this digital age; it gets kept and is therefore more memorable.
But you can also make something funny out of an e-card—check out "Elf Yourself"
Tip: Send out the cards in November and December—it’sa personal touch and saves money.
Find out who hasn't visited your salon before Christmas andsend them a card a few days before Christmas.

3. A great time for gift cards
A gift card attracts new customers to your salon and boosts your sales
How do you promote your gift cards?
Give the gift card a prominent spot in your salon or on your counter (not underneath it… ;) Create an attractive display for it.
Boost sales;
“Buy a gift card and get €5 off,”
“Buy a gift card now and get … for free.”
Create a special page on your website about the gift cards you offer. You can also assign themes to them; for example, how about:
Gift cards “for a scrub, mask, and hand massage” or one of your packages,
“Gift cards for product X”—these cards have a fixed price, namely the price of the mentioned treatment or product
Give your customers ideas and choices.
Of course, you also offer gift cards that can be used for anything, in any amount you choose.
Promote them in your email marketing… and onyour Facebook page.
Come up with a fun tagline or slogan:
“Studio…… helps your hands get through the winter”
“This gift card will really make her happy”
Let your creativity flow.
Have them designed in your brand style or with an existing theme; you can often order them in small quantities. Or order Bio Sculpture gift cards from the online store

You can sell a gift card... there is no expiration date
Turn it into a gift...
For example, a beautiful gold or silver envelope featuring: a satin bow
, rhinestones
, and mini Christmas ornaments...
Or choose organza envelopes, special boxes or bags...
Take a look at Organzastore.nl or Kadodesign.nl
Include a sample or giveaway
Your Gift Card:
A joy to give and to receive
Note: Gift cards do require special handling in your accounting, as they represent a deferred purchase or payment. Ask your bookkeeper or accountant how to process them in your records. That way, you can be sure everything is handled correctly and avoid any surprises later on.

4. The Value of a Gift Certificate
A token of appreciation for your customer
It boosts your sales or, for example, promotes a new treatment
You can surprise your regular customers with gift certificates that can be redeemed in January and February, for example.
Gift certificates are meant to be given away.
They may come with a condition, such as being valid through January 31...
Or are you going to do this for every month of the coming year?
A calendar with gift certificates?
By encouraging sales, you set a deadline by which they can redeem the voucher. Theyneed to act within this timeframe, or they’ll miss out.
Note:Do not offer a discount on your treatment unlessit is a new treatment you want to promote
After all, your time is your most valuable asset...timenever comes back. If you offer a discount on it...then your customers are apparently paying too much, since they can now get it for less
That’s something to think about, don’t you think?

A gift certificate is something you give away; it comes with certain conditions

5. Tips for Your Salon
Put your product of the month in the spotlight—
—and add a spotlight to make it a real eye-catcher.
Create a special display or storefront
I always find inspiration at Beekwilder.com. It’s a wonderful site for getting ideas. (But then again, I’m all about decor… haha ;)
Tip: Take photos to help youevaluate your experienceand get inspiration for next time.
Post the photos on your Facebook page and other social media.
Place your product at eye level
Always display the price clearly; make sure customers don’t have to hunt for it. Some customers are too shy to ask and end up leaving it on the shelf.
Surprise your customers… Createa “wow” effect. A small gesture can make a big difference… Take “
,” for example: at Disney resorts, towels are folded into different shapes every day. It sparks the visitors’ curiosity… “I wonder what it will be today?”
For example, a tray for coffee or tea with a small vase of flowers or a miniature Christmas tree on it …
Create a real Christmas atmosphere: music, candles (but be careful), a pleasant scent… a “Christmas drink”
Make them happy! Turna visit to your salon into an experience. That way, they’ll love coming back and will spread the word...

6. Stay organized
Even though you're busy in the days leading up to Christmas, make sure your salon looks tidy and clean.
On the outside, too. You don’t have to do it all yourself—you can have it done for you. Treat yourself to that luxury and focus on your customers.
Make sure you have a wonderful Christmas too, anddon’t end up completely exhausted on the couch...
Take a regular walk through and around your business, and seeit through the eyes of customers and passersby. Does your salon look attractive and inviting?
Or is there anything that needs tidying up or fixing...?

7. Think ahead
Take advantage of the post-Christmas sales…
and pick up some fun decorations and trinkets…
Ideas often come more easily now that you’re still in the Christmas spirit…
Write down your ideas, inspirations, and reflections in a script or document. Thiswill make things easier for you next year.
Happy Holidays!
